About the Arts and Regeneration Project
“No-One Left Behind” is part of the first phase of Derry City Council’s Arts and Regeneration programme and focuses on young people aged 18 -24 with a disability.
The primary purpose of the Arts and Regeneration programme is to address issues of physical renewal within Neighbourhood Renewal Areas. Alongside Civic Regeneration it is important to have a parallel regeneration process within neighbourhoods of need. The Arts and Regeneration programme aims to complement and enhance the development of regeneration in the participating areas each year.
Through creative initiatives targeting groups and individuals in areas of urban development and regeneration we aim to:
- Increase awareness of the potential for redevelopment and renewal in four specific Neighbourhood Renewal areas each year and one non-geographical constituency.
- Work with residence and area users to generate ideas and aspirations for local areas.
- Produce creative ways of expressing the ideas of communities, individuals and user groups.
- Support the work currently underway in Neighbourhood Renewal areas and bring added value to them.
- Inspire participation by users of the area and provide a system for under-represented communities or individuals to voice their ideas or concerns around the reinvigoration of their area.
- Promote and publicise the work of the Arts and Regeneration programme.
The Arts and Regeneration Programme aims to establish inclusive visions from neighbourhoods and communities as to how they see the physical renewal of their areas.
