Autism Initiatives
The objective of Autism Initiatives is the recognition of the individuality of persons with Autism, and their capacity to benefit from education, training and care. It is those individuals’ fundamental right to live a satisfying and happy life in the community in a supporting and stimulating environment.
Autism Initiatives is committed to helping each individual achieve his or her highest level of independence by:
- emphasising individual needs
- varying potential
- and essential human dignity
Autism Initiatives has been operational in Northern Ireland since 2003, and continues to provide unique and developmental services to those affected by autism.
What Autism Initiatives Does
Autism Initiatives provides care and support in the community for those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working in partnership to ensure that people:
- are actively involved in their own lives
- are a part of the community in which they live
- can be as independent as possible
- can reach their goals
Autism Initiatives supports individuals in their own tenancies to live as independently as possible. The organisation also provides Outreach and Floating Support Services to individuals in the community to enable them to function and participate fully.
Autism Initiatives Philosophy
All people with ASD have the potential to communicate independently to take responsibility for their own lives and environment at a level that allows them to experience success and to develop self-esteem and confidence.
