Alongside one-off events dealing with all aspects of journalism; from writing for the web to broadcasting – the Verbal Arts Centre is working on offering accredited courses in Journalism.
As of September 2006 everyone from post GCSE students to adult learners will be able to indulge their passion for news while earning accredited post-GCSE qualifications.
The courses aim to provide a solid grounding in the theoretical and practical aspects of journalism. Students will learn everything from the skills of writing copy to press ideologies and media law. Offered in conjunction with the NWIFHE our journalism courses will work as feeder courses for NWIFHE’s NVQ4 Jornalism and HND Media.
Extra weighting will be given to VAC Journalism students applying for these courses at NWIFHE.
