Library Book Chain

What is a book chain?

A book chain is a relatively simple way for people who want to share their reading experiences with other readers but who don’t have time to attend monthly reading group meetings. Four people are need for a book chain and each of you pick and read a book. You record your views, how you felt about the book, if you like it or disliked it, if you would recommend it to another reader. This is definitely not a review of a book, just a few words on your opinion of the book. The library will provide a comment slip. You read your chosen book first and then read and comment on three books chosen by the other ‘link’ in the chain.

How does it work?

The library will put you together with three other people, who you will not know. Only the library staff will know all the participants of the chain. Once the chain has been formed the library will contact you with a start date. So all is left for you to do is to drop into the library and pick a book. Hand it back when you’re finished along with your comments. If the next book is available you will be given it or contacted when it becomes available.

It’s that simple, if you wish; when the chain is completed all the links in the chain could meet up in the library to discuss their reading experiences
