| T³ - Teachers Telling Tales
The Verbal Arts Centre will be recruiting teachers, both
NQTs and established class teachers in autumn 2006 to take
part in the second year of a training project entitled T³,
Teachers Telling Tales.
This project will consist of a series of 6 master classes
from January – June 2007.
These classes will be in different geographical locations
to facilitate teacher participation from throughout Northern
Ireland.
The course relates to the contribution storytelling can make
to teaching in the classroom and will be delivered by national
and international storytellers, story
makers and academics.
The themes addressed will include Storytelling and Citizenship,
Storytelling and Literacy, Storytelling and Numeracy, Stories
and Thinking Skills, working with a
class using stories and creating your own stories.
A website will be developed for those involved in the project
to use with lesson plans and on-line resources to assist in
the delivery of the project. This course aims to highlight
to teachers the positive benefits of storytelling and story
making in the classroom.
