Key Stage 3 See Me See You
For schools wishing to access the Schools’ Community Relations Programme with their partner school.

Age range: 11-14
Duration: 4 sessions of three hours
Cost: As per funding programme
Group size: 60

This programme is specifically designed by the Verbal Arts Centre to purposefully address the needs of Key Stage 3 pupils engaging with Community Relations work.

In addition to meeting the key objectives of the Schools’ Community Relations Programme supported by the Department of Education this work has been designed
to fulfil the statutory requirements of both the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum for Citizenship Education, and the Local and Global Citizenship strand of the Key Stage 3 Learning for Life and Work.

See Me See You explores issues of cultural identity, diversity and conflict. The programme has six distinct activities which can be used either individually as
a one off session, or as a series of lessons which allows pupils to explore and enhance their knowledge, understanding and attitudes towards their diverse and
unique community.

A trained Verbal Arts Centre facilitator will deliver the programme to pupils from your school and your partner school. Participants will be given the opportunity to
explore and express their cultural identity, see how differences in tradition, culture and belief can lead to conflict, celebration of diversity and the value of respect for cultures other than their own.

Please note the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 programmes are designed to access funding through the Schools’ Community Relations Programme funding.
Please contact Sarah Lapsley, Education Services Coordinator at the Verbal Arts Centre for advice about this.
