This programme uses Theresa Breslin’s novel “Divided
City” as a way ofexploring sectarianism with Key Stage
2 pupils.
The theme of the book directly addresses how friendships canbe
formed and sustained despite
religious differences. The novel explores traditional tensions
between Protestant and Catholic football supporters whilst
introducing the plight of asylum seekers.
It deals with familiar themes – divided
communities, sectarianism and football loyalties.
Drama, illustration and sound editing skills will be developed
through participation, while addressing literacy
development.
All activities will be joint sessions for both schools.
