They’ve covered all the lesson plans, they’ve
practiced writing their scripts and now the boys of St. Joseph’s
Boys’ School are all set for the challenges of March 22nd.
But have they enjoyed the training and are they looking forward
to BBC News School Report Day? Here’s what some of the students
have said about their experiences so far:
“It’ been great working in teams and
learning journalism skills. I’m excited about
BBC News School Report Day. I think it’ll be a
great experience for me as I’ve discovered this
is something I’d quite like to do as a career.”
Emmett
“Going online and researching our news stories
has been my favourite part so far. I think this is a
really good experience for us all as we’re learning
journalism and broadcasting skills and seeing how it
all works behind the scenes.” Jordan
“Researching in groups and learning how
to make the news have been lots of fun….hard work,
but fun!” It’ll be good working towards
the deadline and trying to get everything done on time
on School Report Day.” Shaw
“It’s been interesting searching for
the work and assembling it. Learning how to work in
a group and agree on one story has been a challenge.
I’ve really enjoyed the training. I’ve learned
loads and I’m looking forward to putting it all
into practice on March 22nd !” Stephen
