About the Project
Teachers Telling Tales ( t3) is an exciting and innovative initiative from the Verbal Arts Centre designed to promote the use of Storytelling in the classroom. Our aim is to provide professional training and support for teachers to facilitate the use of storytelling methods and techniques in delivering the new curriculum.
Previously, the VAC had facilitated the use of professional storytellers in schools, but these occasional visits were not sufficient to impact greatly on the teaching. In order to fully realise the potential of Storytelling as a teaching tool it was agreed that the teachers themselves needed to take on the role of Storyteller, and that a structure should be created to enable and support such training. It is to this end that the T3 programme was developed.
The current phase of the programme involves Master Classes delivered to teachers by experts in the use of Storytelling in education.
