An introduction to comic book production - learn how to create and produce your own comic book. Working alongside David Campbell, the artist in residence, this week-long scheme will take you through the process of working from a script, pencilling, inking, colouring and lettering.

Including comic book related screenings each day.

Podcasting summer scheme: 31 July - 4 August

An introduction to podcasting - create, upload and transmit your own personal radio show.

During this 5-day workshop, you will learn to record, edit and broadcast a podcast on a topic/topics of your choosing. Your podcast can incorporate interviews, music, discussions and talk - it’s up to you to decide what to include.

Finished podcasts are uploaded to a server and made available to a global audience online, through an RSS feed.

DJing summer scheme: August 7 - 9

Workshops will take place in The Verbal Arts Centre's recording studio where budding Djs will have the opportunity to try out professional equipment and familiarise themselves with their operations.

Workshops will cover turntable, cd decks and cross-fader operations, mixing and beat matching. Participants will be shown the different functions of the mixer (e.g. cutting, kill switches and effects). There will also be an introduction to computer based sequencing software.
