Verbal Arts Development in Libraries and Schools

In December 1995 the Executive Committee of the Library and Information Services Council (LISC) discussed the Arts Council’s “To the Millennium” document. In response to Chapter 25, which refers to the role of libraries in overall arts provision, the Committee agreed to fund a limited piece of research based on the proposal formulated by the Chief Librarians and the Verbal Arts Centre.
